Gardens Water Features provide a landscape with a magical and tranquil setting. From the trickling water affect of a pond to a babbling stream or a roaring water fall, Scapes Landscaping can provide your property with a truly unique water garden.
When we install our water gardens we try to mimic mother nature. Our goal when designing a water feature is for it to blend as best as possible with it's natural surroundings. We have installed ponds and waterfalls for a multitude of reasons. Normally our clients are looking for that truly unique setting that will shed off stress and promote a calming mechanism in their lives. We have also created larger waterfalls to drown out unwanted neighbor noises. But most of the people that we create water gardens for just want a landscape that is interactive. We find that pond owners truly enjoy the outdoors. And every new client that we install a pond for can not help themselves and get into their new pond with enthusiasm.
Every property has unique characteristics. Therefore, every pond or water feature we install is truly one of a kind, even though all ponds are made up of the exact same materials. At the bottom of this page are answers to frequently asked questions. Call us today for more information on how Scapes Landscaping can incorporate a water feature into you property's landscape. Frequently Asked Questions: Are ponds expensive? We break down the costs associated with water features into two separate categories. The first is the actual materials and labor needed for the construction of the pond or waterfall. The second would be related costs associated with the new landscape surrounding the water feature. The actual cost of installing a pond is based on size and complexity of the water feature. Obviously the bigger you go and the more complex you get the more expensive it will be. Smaller and simpler ponds average between $3500.00 and $8000.00 installed (not including surrounding landscape). Call us for detail about costs associated with larger water features. What is a good Pond Size? Ponds should be a minimum of 8 x 10" with a depth of 18". We believe and recommend that a good starter size should be at least 10 x 16,' with a depth of 2 feet. This size allows for future growth of fish and plants. The 2 foot depth keeps the fish fron freezing in the winter and predators at bay. Do ponds use a lot of water? The pond systems we use is a closed system. Except for initial fill-up, the only water that needs to be added is to replenish water lost to evaporation. Larger waterfall projects experience a greater rate of evaporation especially during hot summer days. Do ponds attract insects? Mosquitoes and other small insects breed only in stagnant water. Our pond systems have a skimmer and falls that eliminates stagnant water. A skimmer collects the insect larvae off the water surface and drowns them. Is a pond tough to maintain? By using stone at the bottom of the pond and having continuously flowing water most of the maintenance issues are already taken care of. A properly designed and built pond is nearly self-maintained. The skimmer automatically collects and filters debris for easy removal.
